Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Bumar Łabędy, the Polish manufacturer of arms, has announced that it is to cut 150 jobs at its tank factory in Gliwice. 3,500 are currently employed at the Gliwice plant, and the firm has stated that the job losses are due to declining customer orders. As of November 2007, there is no information on when the job losses will be implemented by.
