Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Photonis SAS, a manufacturer of machinery for the production of paper, has announced that it is to cut 121 jobs at its site in Brive. 643 are currently employed at the Brive plant, and the job losses will be implemented by the end of 2008. The restructuring plan was announced by the firm’s Chief Executive Officer at a works council meeting on November 21st 2007.
