Koenig & Bauer, manufacturer of printing presses, has announced that it is to cut approximately 560 jobs at its sites in Würzburg, Trennfeld and Frankenthal. Approximately 150 jobs will be lost at Würzburg and Trennfeld where a total of 2,500 are employed. In Frankenthal, 408 jobs will be lost out of a total of 1,200. The firm attributes the job losses to a decline in the demand for its goods within the printing sector. As of November 2007, there is no information on when the job losses will be implemented by.
