GE Plastics, a firm that manufactures plastics, has announced that it is to close its Villers-Saint-Sépulcre plant with the loss of 235 jobs. The firm has stated that the closure is due to financial reasons, and has also said that the site will be closed between January 2008 and April 2008. The work carried out at the Villers-Saint-Sépulcre site will be transferred to another of the firm’s plants in Grangemouth in the UK. GE Plastics is a subsidiary of the U.S. group Sabics.
