European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Leier Baustoffe, an Austrian firm, is to create 100 new jobs in Petrovany with the development of a factory that will produce bricks. Production is scheduled to commence during 2008, and the new site will involve an investment of 650 million SKK. It is estimated that the new site will produce 160 million bricks per year. Although the unemployment rate in the region is 15 per cent, the firm has stated that it does not intend to apply for economic aid from the Slovak Government.
