Description

Amcor Flexibles, a firm that produces plastic film for the grocery sector, is to cut 100 jobs at its site in Lund. The firm currently employs 380 at Lund, and the jobs at Lund will be ‘offshored’ to locations in Poland and Spain. The decision to ‘offshore’ the jobs has been attributed to the need to specialize production further, rationalize the firms operations, and to take advantage of the lower wages in Poland and Spain. The job losses at Lund are due to be implemented between September 2007 and March 2008.
