Description
Ikea, the Swedish manufacturer of furniture, has announced that it is to create 500 new jobs in Fos-sur-Mer with the development of a new logistical centre. The jobs are expected to be created between August and December 2010, and the development of the new site will involve an investment of 140 million EUR. The site is due to become operational by the end of 2010, and the construction of the site will begin by the end of 2007. The announcement of the job creation follows Ikea being given permission to develop the site by environmental protection body CNPN. Ikea had previously amended its plan for its development in the area in response to criticism from environmental organisations.
