European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Telefónica O2, a Spanish group that operates in the mobile telecommunications sector, is to create 170 new jobs in Banská Bystrica with the development of new call centre. Jeroen Hollestelle, the firm’s Chief Executive for customer services, has stated that the good level of access and qualified workforce within Banská Bystrica were key factors in the firm’s decision to invest in Banská Bystrica. Telefónica O2 also employs 90 in Bratislava, and has operated in Slovakia since 2006. As of October 2007, there is no further information on when employment at the Banská Bystrica site will commence.
