Description

Mformation, a firm that provides software for mobile telecommunication firms, is to create 162 new jobs in Belfast. The firm will establish a development and technical support centre within the city. Invest Northern Ireland, an organization that promotes investment within Northern Ireland, has offered assistance of 2.1 million GBP in support of the project. Northern Ireland Economy Minister Nigel Dodds said that Northern Ireland now had a number of hi-tech companies servicing the international mobile telecoms industry. He stated:

‘Mformation's decision to locate in Northern Ireland is testament to our strong knowledge base, ICT infrastructure and talented people.’

Mark Edwards, chief executive of Mformation, said that Northern Ireland offered ‘an outstanding location option’ for the company.

‘The Belfast operation will become a centre of technical excellence and as a key strategic development facility, it will offer advanced career opportunities for skilled people across Northern Ireland,’

As of October 2007, there is no information on when the site will begin operating.
