Description
St. Anne’s University Hospital, a hospital that is located in Brno, is to cut 80 to 100 jobs by the end of 2007. Management at the hospital have stated that the job cuts are part of an attempt to improve the finances of the hospital. The hospital currently employs 2,550, and it is likely that the job losses will be achieved through direct redundancies. Local trade unions have voiced little opposition to the restructuring plan. It has also been reported that a second wave of redundancies will follow in 2008. However, as of September 2007, there is no specific information on the details of this restructuring plan.
