European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Metalfrio Solutions, a Danish manufacturer of industrial refrigerators and freezers, is to close its site in Aalestrup and relocate production to Kaliningrad in Russia with the loss of 120 jobs. 90 of the employees will be dismissed by the beginning of 2008, whilst 30 will stay on to pack the machinery until approximately the middle of 2008. The 'offshoring' is the latest in a series of 'offshorings' to affect the Danish white goods manufacturing sector. Dansk Industri, the Danish employers' association, estimates that in 2007 the number of employees within the sector is between a fifth or a fourth of the number employed in 1995.
