Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Engrotuš, a general retailer and a part of the Tuš retail group, has opened a new store in Ljubljana that will employ 100. The new store, which opened on August 25th 2007, involved an investment of 18 million EUR and measures 10,000 m2. In addition to Engrotuš’s outlet, Engrotuš has constructed twenty-one new stores that it will rent to other firms. It has been estimated that these firms will create employment for a further 100 workers. By the end of 2007, it has also been estimated that the Tuš group will invest a further 110-15 million EUR in Slovenia in the development of new retail sites.
