The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Kampa AG, a firm that specializes in the construction of detached housing, is to cut 200 jobs. The job losses are a response to the poor recent financial performance of the firm, which recently revised its sales forecast for 2007 from 175 million EUR to 160 million EUR. The firm’s poor performance is partly attributable to the decision of the Federal German Government to cut subsidies to firms constructing homes from January 2006, and companies across the German construction sector have reported poor sales as a result of this decision. Full details of the job losses have not yet been disclosed, and will be discussed by managers and work councils at individual Kampa sites in the near future. The job losses are likely to affect the firm's sites across Germany.
