Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
On 6 July 2007 the British chemical company Ineos Group Ltd announced plans to cut 102 jobs between October 2007 and December 2008 in its French unit in Sarralbe, in the east of France. The management presented the reorganisation plan at the works council meeting. The plan regards stopping the production of polypropylene in Sarralbe and transferring that activity to its factories in Geel (Belgium) and Grangemouth (Scotland).
