Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
On 6 July 2007 the French Agency for Industrial Innovation (Agence de l'Innovation Industrielle) announced that it would grant 14.8 million Euros in aid to a semiconductor project led by STMicroelectronics (STM). The G2 Rec project aims to produce a new generation of diodes that will help save energy in electronic equipment. STMicroelectronics G2 Rec is expected to create 250 jobs between October 2007 and December 2011 in its site in Tours (Indre et Loire). STMicroelectronics is an independent semiconductor company that designs, develops, manufactures and markets a range of semiconductor products.
