Description
On 3 July 2007 SolarWorld AG announced its plans to create 1,000 new jobs at its plant in Freiberg (Saxony). The company is a specialist in the manufacturing of solar power technology and components. The firm stated that it is aiming to double its production of silicon wafers to satisfy the increasing foreign demand. At the moment the Freiberg plant employs 600 employees. The new jobs shall be created from 2008 onwards.
