Wind is one of the European leading operators of integrated fixed-mobile-Internet communications services. Wind, together with Orascom and Wind Ellas – other two communication services providers - are owned by the holding Weather Investments. On 19 June 2007 Weather Investments announced the decision to quote the holding at the Italian stock exchange list, the Borsa of Milan. As a consequence, the company announced a preliminary version of a reorganisation plan that envisages the loss of around 1,000 jobs. In particular, the plan regards the downsizing of the offices located in Milan. Following the news the representatives of the trade unions in Milan announced a one-day-strike on 29 June 2007 in order to protest against the job cuts.
