Fish processing and preserving company Espersen Lietuva intends to reduce the number of its employees, due to the reduced quantities of fish supply to the company. The supply was reduced because of prohibitive measures to collect fish in the Baltic Sea. The number of employees will be reduced from 270 to 168. It is unclear yet when the dismissals will start. Local Labour Exchange in Klaipeda has already initiated an unemployment prevention programme, which is coordinated by the company's administration.
