Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Lagan Technologies, a firm that develops software solutions, has announced it is to create 100 new jobs in Belfast. The posts will be in development, implementation and support. The company said the jobs boost was the result of its growth and an expanding customer base worldwide. Chief executive officer Des Speed said the availability of highly skilled workforce in Northern Ireland made it a serious contender in the marketplace. 'Our continued growth and success are a tribute to the quality and dedication of Lagan employees who have all played a fundamental role in placing the company at the forefront of global technology.'
