The construction of a bottling plant is set to bring 100 jobs to Avonmouth. The aim of the development is to cut shipping and reduce the mountain of imported green glass produced by British wine drinkers.
Simon Russell from drinks company Constellation Europe, said the plant should be operational by early 2009. 'The detailed planning, we are doing at the moment, but we are going to start building this summer and at the back end of 2008, early 2009, it will actually be up and running in Avonmouth,' he said.
