Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
HK Scan is one of the leading food companies in Northern Europe. The company’s home market covers Finland, Sweden, the Baltics and Poland. HK Scan produces, sells and markets pork, beef and poultry meat, processed meats and convenience foods. Scan AB, responsible for the HK Scan Group's business operations in Sweden, is launching an efficiency programme expected to deliver annual savings of 18-22 million Euro upon completion. The reasons for this two-year programme are the poor financial results of Scan AB and the need to improve competitiveness. The programme will affect around 400 employees, around 12% of Scan's current workforce in Sweden.
