Description
Fujitsu Services, a firm providing IT systems and support across a range of industries, is to create 402 new jobs in Belfast and Londonderry. A new IT Centre will be built in Londonderry creating 328 jobs, whilst 74 new posts will be created at the firm's existing centre in Belfast. The firm is being supported by a 5.65 million GBP Invest Northern Ireland grant.
Economy minister Nigel Dodds said the 'landmark project demonstrates the strength and skill of the talent pool across Northern Ireland'.
He said it would provide a major boost to the economy in the north west and demonstrated the potential for similar developments in other areas.
David Courtley, CEO of Fujitsu Services, paid tribute to Derry's 'advanced local infrastructure, the availability of an IT-focused labour market and a very close proximity to the UK/European marketplace'.
He said the new jobs would 'encompass a broad spectrum of specialist high-quality IT services roles'.
