Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Dogi, the international manufacturer of textiles is planning to reduce its workforce in its Spanish plants. Dogi’s CEO Karel Schröder has announced an immediate Employment Restructuring Programme (Expediente de Regulacion de Empleo) affecting no less than 30% of its staff. The aim of the programme is to improve the company's competitiveness, whose goal is to consolidate its international market through the expansion of activities in Asia.
