Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
HCL Technologies of India plan to open an information technology centre in Krakow, initially employing 150 persons and eventually increasing the headcount to approximately 1,000 employees. The company already operate a similar facility in Ireland, employing 1,600 at that site. Currently, HCL Technologies maintain a two-person office in Krakow. Its corporate parent, HCL, has 45,000 employees in 17 countries.
According to information as of June 2007, the centre will start to operate in July 2007 and will employ 250 by the end of 2007.
