Description
On 31 May 2007 Leroy Merlin, a subsidiary of the Adeo Group and the French leader of household tools and materials, announced that it would build a 14,000 square-metre store and a logistic platform for the south of France in Valence. The investment is expected to create 300 new jobs -150 at the store and 150 at the logistic platform- between October 2008 and July 2009. The decision is part of the expansion plan of the company in the south-east of France, where Leroy Merlin did not have any warehouse. The logistic platform will open first, in winter 2008, while the store is expected to open by July 2009. In June 2007 Leroy Merlin had 107 stores in France.
