Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Swedish company Ericsson, manufacturer of telecom equipment announced the intention to hire 200 higher education graduates for the Bucharest Global Services Centre. The Centre will open in July. The reason for choosing this location, according to the company representatives, was the wage cost, still competitive in Romania and the potential expansion of the market in East and Central Europe. In 2005 the turnover of Ericsson in Romania was EUR 39 million.
