Berlin-based waste management company Alba is expanding to become one of the leading waste management companies in Germany. After acquiring U-Plus, a subsidiary of energy company ENBW in April 2007, further acquisitions are planned. Overall sales of U-Plus, a waste management company operating in the south of Germany, trippled within three years amounting to 780 million Euro in 2006. Alba announced its plans to expand the operations of the new subsidiary – now named ‘Alba Süd’ - and to expand Alba-Süd’s current workforce of 1,200 by 150 new jobs within the next two years.
