Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
A German firm has announced plans to open a paper mill in a Norfolk town, creating 150 jobs. The Palm Group will build the 330 million GBP factory on a 100-acre site in South Lynn between Lynn Power Station and the Norfolk Arena, King's Lynn. It will house one of the most advanced paper machines in the world making newsprint from recycled material. The initiative has been hailed as one of the biggest private investments in the town in recent years. In 1984, Palm became the first German paper mill to produce high quality newsprint made from 100% waste paper. All the company's products are based on the use of recycled material.
