British mobile phone company Vodafone is opening a shared services centre in Budapest, the CEO of the company's Hungarian unit announced. The centre will employ 700 people by 2009 and will carry out simple business transactions, such as business-to-business billing and accounts payable. The centre will provide services for all of Vodafone's worldwide operations, including human resources. Details of a contract with the Hungarian government are still being negotiated and the date of opening the centre has not been announced yet.
