Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
In late May 2007, the Italian firm Aria – a supplier of components to Whirlpool – are to begin the production of washing machine and refrigerator parts in Kalisz for the use of Whirlpool plants in Wronki, Katowice, Łódź, and Wrocław as well as by some Italian buyers. The 25 million PLN Kalisz factory will employ approximately 150 persons.
According to information as of 2007.07.06, the company employs 140 people at the first plant, and plans to build a second factory in Kalisz in which approximately 100 new workers will be employed.
