Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Guisnel Logistic, a French family owned company specialised in storage and warehousing, announced on 7 May 2007 that it is planning to create 100 jobs between May and December 2007. The company currently employs 765 people at its site in Dol de Bretagne where it is investing 14 million Euros. The warehouse complex is set to open in summer 2007 and it will have 6,000 square meters of a new logistic platform, whose size will be doubled in 2008. According to the company CEO, Guisnel Group is planning to create new jobs in the coming years. The company owns 11 warehouses in France and its sales turnover reached 58 million Euros in 2006. 20% of Guisnel Group's total sales turnover comes from activities in the EU.
