Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Legallais Bouchard, the leading French wholesaler of hardware, announced on 2 May 2007 that the family company has created 200 jobs between May 2002 and May 2007, increasing the workforce size to 450 employees. At the end of 1999, part of the family shareholders left the company and the investment fund '3i' invested in the company. Since then, the company has doubled its sales turnover, invested more than 20 million Euro and created 200 jobs. At the end of March 2007, 3I sold its owenership of 40% to the family which has become again the only owner of the company.
