Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Previously Yazaki Wiring Technologies management announced it would create 3200 jobs and invest 500 million SKK at its plant in Michalovce by the end of 2007, however this has been changed to a creation of 1500 jobs and an investment of 1.7 billion. The company currently produces motor car cables for Ford and employs 1800 people at the plant and the increase in jobs and investment is to cater for the production of cables for BMW. 500 of the new jobs have now been filled and the next 400 jobs will be created by the end of 2008. The further 600 jobs are planned for the next three years.
