Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Rafineria Gdańska, an oil refinery owned by the Lotos group, is planning new investments, including the construction of new installations. Towards these ends, the company is planning to hire between 200 and 300 experts in the area of refining and petrochemical technology.
The Lotos group has unveiled its comprehensive technological development programme, designated with the Polish abbreviation PKRT. This will be the largest investment at its flagship Gdansk Refinery complex since its construction in 1976. Enlargement of the processing infrastructure under the PKRT will enable the Lotos group to boost its capacity from 6 million tonnes to 10.5 million tonnes of crude per year by late 2009. The new infrastructure will be built over an area of 14 hectares; implementation of the PKRT will involve 3,000 persons.
