Description
The Danish public TV and radio channel, Radio Denmark (DR), announced on 13 March 2007 that 300 employees will have to be dismissed due to red figures in the budget. A new DR-city, built in the 'new town' Oretsaden near Copenhagen Airport, has exceeded the estimated budget by several billion DKK. The employees went on strike for 24 hours and the dismissals have led to great public and political attention. The job losses are part of austerity measures taken by the management.
