Description
Autoeuropa is one of the biggest factories in the automotive industry in Europe and currently employs more than 3,200 workers in Palmela (Setúbal). Volkswagen announced on 13 March 2007 its plans to invest 500 million Euros in the Autoeuropa plant in order to modernise their production equipment and build new infrastructures for suppliers.
This investment is related to the manufacturing of one or more new car models. According to the employee representative, this investment guarantees the future of the plant for the next 8 to 10 years and will create about 1,000 jobs.
