Description
German company Carthago relocated part of its production of motohomes from Germany to Slovenia. The main reason of Carthago to move the production to Slovenia is lack of workers in Germany. The reasons like good labour force in Slovenia, good business environment, good transport connections with parent company and low level of corruption have also been mentioned. The new factory, which will produce upper-end market motohomes, will begin its operations on August 4, 2008. The location of factory will be Odranci, village in the North-East part Slovenia known by the highest unemployment rate in the country. At the beginning 40 people will be employed, while in the next two years the number of employees will increase up to 150. Public Agency of the Republic of Slovenia for Entrepreneurship and Foreign Investment (JAPTI) contributed EUR 1,127 million for the initial investment, while the total project is worth some EUR 4 million.
