Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
In early 2007, the Spanish manufacturer of parts and accessories for motor vehicles engines Manufactura Moderna de Metales/Barcelona (MMM) has set up a greenfield plant in Turda, county Cluj, investing EUR 5.5 million. M.M.M will be starting its activity in Romania with 20 employees, manufacturing metal tubes for car engines. According to company representatives, M.M.M Autoparts will employ 240 personsby the end of July 2008. The turnover of the company for 2007 was estimated at EUR 36 million, an increase of 20% compared to 2006. If the company will finalise all the investments projected in 2007, the turnover for 2008 is estimated at EUR 8 million.
