Description
Norfolk and Waveney Mental Health Trust (NWMHT) is to cut 100 posts to reduce budgets by 2 million GBP and aims to achieve the target by putting a temporary stop to recruitment. The Trust has blamed budget shortfalls in other parts of the local NHS for cuts. Health service union Unison said staff were concerned about their future and the impact of the cuts on patient care. A spokesperson from Norfolk Primary Care Trust (PCT) said: 'The PCT has worked very closely with the Norfolk and Waveney Mental Health Partnership to jointly agree an appropriate level of reduction in funding.' 'Any NHS organisation will actively seek to avoid staff redundancies wherever possible.'
