Desjonquères, a manufacturer of glass fibres, announced on 20 February 2007 that it will cut between 123 and 461 jobs between January 2008 and February 2011 in its factory in Tréport, near Paris. The owner of Desjonquères, Saint Gobain Group, is selling the company and there is already a firm interested in acquiring Desjonquères. Saint Gobain announced that it expects to obtain around 690 million euros from the divestment. In addition, Saint Gobain announced that it would build a new factory in France to manufacture glass wool.
