Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
German group Thyssenkrupp, a manufacturer of lifting and handling equipment, announced on 13 February 2007 that its factory in Arudy, in the west of France, will close down on 31 March 2007. The group has decided to stop the activity of the factory and it is expecting that the site will be repurchased by another company. On 13 February, the employees went on strike.
