Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Terra Innova, the French company specialised in waste recycling, announced on 6 February 2007 that it is aiming to open a plant in Prauthoy, in Haute Marne. The plant will recycle stone pieces to be used in breeze-block production in France and the rest of Europe. While the company has not disclosed the value of the investment planned for the project, it has stated that 104 jobs will be created by 2009, which will be followed by 46 more by 2012. Production is scheduled to begin in mid-2007, with a workforce of 40 employees. Prauthoy was chosen due to its location near a stone quarry and a railway network.
