Description
Insurance giant Norwich Union has confirmed the creation of about 150 new jobs at its Perth office.
The company said it wanted to fill the new positions in customer call handling, as soon as possible.
The announcement came after Norwich Union last year announced plans to shed 4,000 jobs in the UK.
Perth SNP MSP Roseanna Cunningham, who admitted giving the company some 'stick' in recent months, welcomed the jobs announcement:
'We had not been anticipating this news, Norwich Union is an extremely important employer for Perth and for the whole of Tayside.'
In September last year the company announced that 250 posts would be lost in Glasgow and a further 200 in Perth.
