Description

Limerick-based software company, Thomson Scientific, is to make 200 workers redundant. The company is to commence a transfer of work from their Irish base to facilities in India. The US company, which develops software for the legal, financial services, science and healthcare sectors, is in the process of a 30 day consultation period. The transfer of jobs to India is expected to take eighteen months to complete. Thomson cited increased competition as the main reason for leaving Ireland.
