Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
After around ten months of industrial action, workers at Phosphoric Fertilisers Industry (BFL), a chemical plant in Thessaloniki, have succeeded in preventing the closure of the plant. Although the company continues to operate, some 200 employees have been dismissed. A draft bill is expected to be submitted to the parliament specifying the terms of exit for redundant and resigning employees.
