Description
The computer chipmaker Intel is to cut over 100 jobs at its County Kildare plant at the end of March 2007. The job losses are understood to be part of an ongoing restructuring strategy by the company. At the end of last year, Intel confirmed it would cut 10,500 jobs worldwide. The company employs over 5,500 permanent staff in Ireland at present. News of the job losses come in tandem with recent results from the company, which show a 39% fall in profits.
