The agricultural trading company Maatalouskesko has started personnel negotiations in all of the domestic units in Finland, it was announced on 2 January 2007. As a result of this, 40 jobs are to be cut, some through pension arrangements and some through internal transfers to new posts in the company.
The job cuts are due to economic and production reasons.
Seppo Hämäläinen, CEO of the Maatalouskesko, said that the amount of reductions are not certain. The negotiations will be concluded before the end of February 2007.
