Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Industrial joinery FPEE, specialising in manufacturing of windows, doors and shutters in PVC and aluminium, announced on 18 December 2006 that its activity grew strongly and it decided to invest in Brûlon in the west of France (Sarthe).
Between September and December 2007 the planned expansion will create some 80 jobs in addition to 500 employees of the factory.
FPEE has just engaged in the construction of a 10,000 square meter unit, which involves an investment of 6.5 million EUR (including the machines). This extension of an industrial area of 40,000 square meters will be completed in September 2007. The aim of the investment project is to launch a production of a new range of aluminium windows integrating a system of PVC insulation.
