Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Delta 3, a company specialised in storage and warehousing, announced on 19 December 2006 that it is to build its logistics centre on a 17-hectare plot of land in Dourges (in north). The building will occupy 57,000 square metres and will include a logistics area and a zone of 'ideas', which could house a training centre for store managers world-wide. Works on the site are expected to begin in the next few days. Some 300 jobs are expected to be created at the site between January and December 2008. Decathlon, the French sports wear retailer, is to join the Dourges Delta 3 multi-modal logistics platform near an important city of Lille.
