Friesland Hungary, a subsidiary of Dutch Friesland Foods, the multinational company that develops, produces and sells dairy products, fruit-based drinks and ingredients, is concentrating its Central European dairy production to its Eastern Hungarian unit in Debrecen with delocating a part of production from Slovakia. Consequently the number of employees at the Debrecen unit will increase by 75 in the course of 2007. At the same time two Hungarian units in Gyöngyös, Central Hungary, and Nagybánhegyes in Southern Hungary, will be closed down, resulting in the dismissal of 154 employees. The company is planning to make investments in the remaining Hungarian sites in the amount of HUF 2.5 billion.
